Installation Guide

Server Requirements

In order to install and run BlogNewsCMS your web server will need to support PHP Version 4.3 or later and either have the IonCube loader installed or the ability to run the IonCube at run-time.  You may need to ask your Hosting Provider if they support IonCube encoded PHP files.

The Scripts are known to run on a Linux based Server with Apache v1.3.34 Web Server.

The Installation is straight forward.  If your Server Support IonCube already you simply Unzip the files and upload them all to your Server.

You will need to modify the config.php file to reflect your website.  Simply Open the file in notepad (or other similar text editor) and change the appropriate settings.  All Config options have a full description as to what they are for.

To Test if your server is capable of running this software, simply Download the IonCube test files and install them on your server.  Then point a web browser to the directory and you will see if it all worked for you.

Once you have verified that your server can run the Files, you can purchase a Licence and therequired Files will be sent as a Zip to your email address.

When you get the files, simply unzip the archive, modify the config.php file to your requirements - ensuring that you change the Admin Password, then upload the files to your Web Server In Binary Mode, making sure to preserver the directories.

Once you have uploaded the files, point your web browser to the Admin.php file and try to add a new Item, then Edit the Item and finally Delete it.  If you can do this then there is nothing more to do.  If you encounter any problems or error messages then make a note of exactly what you were doing, copy the error messages and post the details to our Support Forums where we will be able to assit in resolving any problems.

Once you have tested everything is working as expected, you can add your first New Item.  Once you have added your own Item, then you can delete the Distributed Items from within your Admin Panel.
